LEBANON, Tenn., - High school season is right around the corner for most prospects in the nation. The CoachHemi.com Fall Workout provided players an opportunity for a skill tune-up with our team of Elite Basketball Academy trainers while also getting competition versus some of the better players in the region. Phenicia Howard of Munford, Tenn., was a new face in the senior class that impressed on both ends of the floor but the weekend was clearly junior class powered. Here is a look at the 2016’s primed for a breakout season.

2016 Checklist

Ansley Eubank of Murfreesboro, Tenn., has been a consistent performer over the past two years. Her energy on the defensive end is always noteworthy. However, she showed more offensive polish on this weekend. Her footwork in traffic and ability to finish among the trees made her one of the top players at the camp.

The best scorer in the paint at the camp was Shelby Gibson of Murfreesboro, Tenn. The 6-foot-2 center has terrific hands and a good sense of where to position herself on the weakside glass. Her ability to use her body to create space made it difficult for opponents to stop her from scoring.

Like the Eubank, Mychelle Johnson of Huntington, W.Va., has been tabbed a defensive specialist in past viewings. Johnson seems to be turning the corner on the offensive end as well. Her willingness to handle the ball as a point guard and her ability to hit the open jumper make her one of the better guards in the region.

Watching Caroline Patrick of Murfreesboro, Tenn., grow as a player has been impressive. The 5-11 wing-forward is a shooting specialist. However, it is her willingness to make hustle plays along the front line that should allow her to contribute for the Lady Warriors and coach Cory Barrett at Riverdale High School this year.

One of the best junior power forwards in the region is Maddie Wright of Chattanooga, Tenn. Her skill allows her to score as a low block presence or be able to face-up and hit the open jumper. The 6-1 prospect showed her ability to play in the high post and facilitate the action as a passer too. Look for her to add confidence this year while playing at Boyd Buchanan School.

A player that burst on to the scene at the Workout was LeJzae Davidson of Nashville, Tenn. The quick, athletic guard showed that she can defend either guard position. Her offensive skill shows promise as well as she can create space driving the ball hard to hole.
