BRONX, New York – The inaugural Check Me Out Showcase in New York was a high talent, high energy environment. The Elite Is Earned Basketball staff brought their decade of building out the best camp experience to the Bronx and the players responded. Before camp jumped off a Feature Player Training Session saw seven athletes get extra work in and set the tone for the weekend.
Brooks is one of the smoothest operators in the class. Her ball skill and ability to handle pressure and make plays is fun to watch. Brooks has seemed to have really invested in her fitness and it’s paying off as fatigue was not a thing in a long camp day.
Francis is in the conversation nationally near the top of the 2025 class. Her performance in the Bronx only elevated her argument. Her length, mobility, instincts and competitiveness all stood out. She impacts both ends of the floor and can snatch the ball off the rim and start the break.
Broughton came to camp with a clear mindset to compete and she did just that. Her speed with the ball and skillset for her age jump out immediately. She plays the game fast and teammates who get out and run with her definitely benefit.
Corluka is a rising sophomore who creates problems for her opponent with her length. She has the footwork to play inside and out some. With her back to the basket or facing up at 15 feet she did good things.
Grube is a rising freshman with a great combination of skills heading into high school. She has the ball skill and handle to keep her defender honest and looked comfortable in the catch and shoot opportunities as well.
For such a young guard Ribeiro’s skill set is advanced. Her feet on the perimeter are smooth and she can create her own shot using that and her length. Despite a lean build at this stage she had no problems making plays.
Harrison is a problem for defenders as the rising sophomore is explosive in so many of her movements. She has good handles and creates offense in a very fluid way. She was a player that got more and more comfortable as camp went on.
