MARIETTA, Ga. – All Tournament Players Park provided the venue for July exposure on Monday afternoon. With multiple schools dropping in to catch the action, the intimate atmosphere provided the perfect opportunity for all the players involved to be seen. Although the temperatures have been relatively mild by Atlanta standards as of late, the competition inside of Peach State Basketball tournaments have been heating up.

Curteeona Brelove (Malone, Fla.), Georgia Exposure Red – 2014

One of the biggest stock risers of the summer has been Brelove, the 6-foot-2 power forward. After leading her Georgia Exposure team to a championship on Sunday afternoon in the Summer Kickoff, Brelove followed that up with impressive performances on Monday. The left-handed power player specializes in rebounding the basketball. At the next level she will have the ability to put up serious rebound numbers, nightly. However, the lefty surprises observers with her nimble footwork and her soft touch from the perimeter. Although Brelove is built like a traditional block post, she has footwork like a wing forward. Her array of step-back moves and mid-range jumpers off of the bounce has a number of college coaches keeping tabs on her. And with her performances on the PSB stage, she instantly elevated herself into the ELITE 150 Watch List discussion.

AROUND THE RIM

♦ Class of 2016 forward Karlie Bearden is a player of promise. She has shown flashes of being skilled and effective. The 5-11 Bearden of Dawsonville, Ga. could develop into a shooting specialist, but she has shown a much broader skill set. Consistency will be key for her development in the next 12 months.

♦ Class of 2014 guard Alexia Manning of Columbus, Ga., is another solid performer from coach Tim Marshall’s Georgia Exposure team. The 5-6 shooting guard is a high IQ player who shoots and passes the ball well.

Kena Bowers of Conover, N.C., caught our eye in the opening game of the day. The 6-1 post takes up space and moves well for her size. The 2014 center is a prospect that schools in her region should check out.

♦ A number of college coaches checked in at the Best of Summer tournament to follow the progression of Akela Branch of Albemarle, N.C. The class of 2014 forward is a good-sized athlete who has tools to make plays in the paint.
