In this Film Room evaluation, Canaan showed a real ability to make positive plays by attacking the lane off the dribble. It's hard not to mention Canaan's physical size and skill set combination as a younger prospect. There's an upside for her that doesn't exist for most in her age range as a result. Canaan uses her frame well at this stage though that's a place where I look for her to keep growing over the next 12-18 months. As she gets more and more comfortable playing through bumps while reading helpline defense, expect Canaan to pick her spots to attack even more as a result. I've had multiple chances in the last two years to evaluate Canaan's performance. Her size / strength at such an early age jump right out at me from a shot maker perspective. Canaan flicks her right wrist on the release of almost every single every shot opportunity. She has the build to consistently make shots out to 24-25 feet with relative ease. As Canaan continues to work on her ability to stick the landing on her jumper, her percentages and production will increase as a result. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
It was evident from the first set of reps that Canaan's shot has improved since Indy. She's a little bigger and stronger than she was in the fall. Canaan has a tendency to fade some at the end of her shot as a result of moving too fast. Slowing down slightly will help her stick the landing. Canaan has all the size and skill early to be an elite level shooter. -- Brandon Clay
Canaan has a fantastic feel for the game at an early age before stepping into High School. Her length and size on the perimeter lends itself to the way the modern game is being played. Canaan can handle, shoot and distribute the basketball. On the other end, she competed at a high level with elite talent including classmate Finley Parker. As Canaan keeps developing her overall game, expect her production to keep raising as a result. -- Brandon Clay
