I’ve had the chance to evaluate Suarez game on multiple occasions over the past 18 months. This one felt a little different as I watched her utilize her size on the interior in the 2-person game with Claire Stoops. Suarez has the skill set to be effective with smaller guards on her by going to the post then countering if the defense switches a big onto her by stepping out to the perimeter. Suarez is a unique prospect in that way especially from a single state lens. On average, there aren’t more than 3 to 5 kids per class inside Indiana who can do what Suarez did here matchup wise. Leaning into that versatility early and often in games will help propel her game to another level. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Suarez ability to make plays most of her peers struggle to complete at various points during the game is a major plus. She’s growing into competition without getting overwhelmed in a moment where she’s not performing at a high level. That’s important for a prospect like Suarez where it’s evident that her physical build is still far from finished. Suarez has the skill and athleticism to be a consistent factor around the rim. If she can continue to showcase the ability to hit the open midrange and even 3-pointer like she has the last two times we’ve seen her, there’s plenty of run room left for her to develop. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
In this Film Room eval, Suarez continues to show the growth on perimeter. Long term, it will be worth tracking to see how her development in that regard goes but she has the tools to keep improving at a fairly rapid rate. Suarez is showing range out to the 3-point line in addition to her willingness to rebound the basketball around the rim. If Suarez can keep adding to her basketball handling skill set, there's still plenty of room for upside before she even enters high school. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
In this Film Room Evaluation, it was impressive how much more refined Suarez skill set is than it was a year ago at the same time. She has all of the tools to be a consistent threat getting downhill to score the basketball. Suarez also has the tools to be an impact prospect around the rim as well. Her overall skill set is built for Suarez to be a primary scoring threat at the forward position. For her, continuing to work on being assertive every single time she hits the basketball floor is a must. She is already standing over 6-feet tall with the ability to make shots from outside the 3-point line. Her physical maturation will continue to progress as time does but the process of consistent attack mode can be sharpened now. -- Brandon Clay | @BrandonClayPSB
In multiple Filmroom evaluations over the past 12 months, it's easy to see that Suarez has a tall follow through that opens door for her to be a high level shotmaker. Her shot and the mechanics of it are growing nicely in tandem with her frame. Suarez is growing at such a rapid rate that it's still a place of growth for her to figure out in real time exactly what shot to take especially when she has an open 3-pointer. In that way, her progression reminds me a lot of Finley Parker (GA-2027) though Suarez will have played more high level basketball in time than Parker did at that age. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
