Leiva, 5'6 guard in the 2023 class. What was impressive about her play was the command she played with on the floor. Her teammates were looking to get the ball in her hands because she was aggressive making plays. She showed poise in the point guard position, a high IQ with her decision-making and was patient with her passes. Going forward, developing more balance and learning to take more contact is key for her growth over the next few years. That will come with more development in her strength. Offensively, she will shoot the 1-2 step 3-ball off the bounce, and will utilize that look with time and space. Right now her range is more consistent off a swing pass into her shot. She also had a nice attack going baseline finishing at the side of the rim, which is a key piece to her arsenal. Overall, Leiva played with a lot of command and has a lot of upside in the backcourt position going forward.
