Griffon is a veteran point guard and savvy floor general. She is a player we’ve seen progress over the last few years and her toughness on the floor grows year in and year out on both ends of the court. Offensively, she is physical attacking the rim, crafting scoring and will pull up in the midrange. She’s dynamic enough to score off the ball screen, facilitate off it in the lane and make high IQ decisions with the ball in her hands. Defensively, she plays hard consistently and has good ball pressure, but making sure she moves her feet to eliminate driving lanes is an area she can hone in on because she is a good defender. Overall, Griffon is a hustle player guard with the confidence to run an offense and take the big shot.
Griffon is a 5'5 guard in the 2019 class with a really good handle to get to the basket. She came ready to play on Sunday and was everywhere on the floor. Offensively, had a really nice, smooth pull-up in transition that she converted on and knocked down a smooth 1-2 step 3-pointer. She has high energy and one of the strongest motors on the floor that really feeds her ability to drive in the paint, facilitate and play freely in transition. She had a cool behind the back pass that she made running up the floor that kept the energy and momentum going for her team. She showed a lot character from the perimeter that allowed her to use her ball-handling and footwork savvy to create a lane to the basket and strong command that other teammates can build off of. Areas of improvement for her going forward will be developing more strength and getting in the mix more defensively. She is a strong on ball defender, but having more command to get teammates dialed in and matched up is an area she can take initiative on. Overall, Griffon was impressive this past weekend and a player that you have to keep an eye on the floor because she can make things happen from a lot of areas over the course of the game.
