Fourie is a terrific shooter. She gets her shot off with quickness and accuracy. The rest of her game is solid based up on her great understanding of the game. The next step in her progression will be to develop shot fakes, pull-up jumpers and hesitation moves to maximize her midrange game.
Fourie is an established shooter. She is able to get her shot off quickly and is always active in moving to spot up around the arc. Lately Fourie is showing more willingness to be a point guard and direct action in the half court. This growth in her game will pay dividends in future years. The next step for her will be to add dribble moves to create space on the perimeter when defenders begin to turn the pressure up on her.
Fourie is a proven shooter. That skill turned into production this season as she set a school record with most 3-pointers in a game (8) as a freshman. She showed that confidence and ability once again here at the EBA Top 40 Camp. What Fourie has shown improvement on is her ball handling. She proved that she could handle a lead ball handler at times. Her confidence and skill point to bright things in her future.
Fourie walked away from the underclassmen session of camp as one of the top shooters of the day. When she gets hot, she can real off several jumpers in a row. She does not always need her feet set to get her shot off quickly. She proved that she move around the perimeter and get her feet square efficiently. Fourie was also good in the one dribble pull-up area where she scored several buckets in game play.
Fourie is the type of player many coaches like to have on their roster. She is a shot maker and she brings energy. Her ability to shoot the ball allows her to contribute regardless of the situation. Fourie should draw enough attention that she can open the lane for slashers or post players that play with her. At the same time, the rising freshman gives an equal effort on the defensive end. Her willingness to get into a stance and make hustle plays will earn her valuable minutes in the future.
