Hewlett is a smaller guard whose toughness, grit, and smart play are evident in every aspect of her game. She plays hard on both ends of the floor, using her speed to disrupt opponents and wreak havoc on ball-handlers with relentless defensive pressure. Her effort and hustle are constant, and she is highly coachable, fully buying into the process and trusting in her coaches. Hewlett sees the floor very well, consistently making good decisions, which makes her a valuable and dependable player on the court.

Hewlett really stood out with her competitive nature. She isn’t afraid of being physical on either end of the floor. She showed off her athleticism in multiple areas but it was really evident when she pursued rebounds. She’s an aggressive driver who gets paint touches. We’d like to see her slow down a bit once she’s beat her defender to find more consistency on her finishing. The good news is she gets downhill often. As she moves into high school we’ll look for her impact without the ball in her hands to grow.
