Carroll is a wing with length and particularly good shooting range. She has a chance to be a shooting specialist at the high school level and beyond. Yet she can affect the game with more than just her shooting ability. She snags rebounds in the lane and uses her active feet to defend well on the perimeter. The eighth grader even showed a nice pull-up jumper in transition that showed the versatility of her offensive skill set. Carroll will need to continue to add physical strength and maximize that area of her development. When she does, her shooting pocket should rise leading to her being able to get her shot off even more quickly.

This was our first chance to work with Carroll. Given her willingness to work and desire to improve, you can bet that it won’t be the last. She reminds of former Auburn standout and current Georgia Tech recruiting coordinator, Blanche Alverson, at the same stage in her development. Carroll has the confidence to take the open 3-pointer already. For her, finishing her follow through with a 2-hand extension is key to becoming a volleyball line level shooter.
