Harris, 5’5 guard in the 2020 class. Has good strength in the back court position and does a lot of the intangibles on defense. She communicates well on both ends of the floor, has good defensive positioning defending the on-ball and was engaged with her surroundings. Offensively she was committed to be more of a facilitator than a scorer, but with more shooting consistency from beyond the arc, should help her get more looks in the midrange at the rim. Continuing to develop more footspeed on both ends will be key for her over the next year. Overall, hard worker, great teammate, and competed hard over the weekend.
Harris is a 5'5 guard in the 2020 class who is awesome at running the point guard position and running the offense. Her ability to facilitate and make reads within the offense is a strong suit for her and she does a good job of taking care of the ball. Her decision-making allows her to make great plays, but what also stands out about her play is her patience. She doesn't look to force any passes, or over dribble, but recognizes what the defense has to give her. She has range and knocked down a 3-ball from the left wing baseline that sported a smooth release point. Developing quicker footspeed and working on finishing in the lane are areas she can improve on going forward. Overall, Harris is a high IQ player and who has a knack for getting her teammates involved and managing the pace of the game.
Harris is a 5’5 guard in the 2020 class that showed a great feel for the game and patience in her approach from the guard position. She plays within herself and her decision making on the court is good in a lot of different situations. During the 5-on-5 showcase games, she played with a lot of poise and made a lot of good passes to her teammates up the court in transition and in the half court. She also showed off her high basketball IQ and facilitating abilities as well and while her decisions on the floor are fun to watch, having her develop more assertiveness to find her shot in the midrange will be key for her development. With that, she already has great footwork with the ball in her hands and just can make plays happen for her team offensively. Moving forward, Harris can look to develop more speed and strength over the next few years, and look to bring more energy defensively, so her impact is felt on both ends of the hardwood.
