Cvetnich is showing improvement with every eval. It's been a joy to chart her progress and watch her become a true next level frontcourt option. Given her size / skill / frame package, I can envision Cvetnich as a new age small ball 5 player when teams want to space the floor with 5 shooting options on the floor at one time. That said, continuing to refine her post skill set will give Cvetnich the ability to be effective inside or outside. Her work ethic speaks for itself.
Cvetnich is a camp veteran who makes strides during each camp session. Her willingness to be coached and give max effort allows her to unlock a different parts of her game. She is willing to play physical in the low paint and her ability to use her body gives her great position to rebound and score. When she does have angles to score she converts on a high percentage of shots. Cvetnich is also evolving a face up shooter. She has shown the ability to hit the I-cut and pick and pop jumper, which gives her versatility in the half-court game. Cvetnich's limitations center on her foot speed. Although she does run the court with purpose, there are some players that are much quicker than her in a foot race. Her attention to staying in shape and maximizing her athleticism will be important for her reaching her potential.
Cvetnich has carved out her spot at EBA and affiliate camps with her blue collar work ethic over the past 12 months. She is kid who is willing to do the dirty work and give max effort in drills. Her best attribute on the court right now is her ability to knock down the open shot. She has range to hit the midrange jumper and is also very solid at the free throw line. Her ball skill allows to find open players while facing the basket or when posting up. The challenge for D'Anna will be to polish her footwork in the post and become more confident with her moves. By becoming more decisive and also developing counter-moves on the interior will be very important to her development.
Cvetnich separated herself as one of the better young post players at the camp with her willingness to seal and finish around the basket. She recognized mismatches and also understood the angles in the paint. Her ability to finish around the rim at a young age gives great hope for the future. She also did an effective job of rebounding in her area.
