It has been a while since we evaluated Hallman heading into her eighth grade season. She is shooting the basketball well from all over the floor. In a shooting session with classmate Kayla Cleaveland, Hallman did a good job of making shots and using her handle to create. Inside of gameplay, Hallman moved well without the ball. She can continue to add strength to her frame allowing her to play through contact at the college level. -- Brandon Clay
Hallman is a left-handed guard who progresses with each evaluation. She shoots the ball well from range. She is also becoming more confident with her handle. The eighth grader is confident with either hand driving. As she matures physically, we expect that her impact upon the game will increase as well. But at this moment, she will need to focus upon not over dribbling or penetrating too far into the help defense. Anticipating the help defender’s actions and making the right play is the area where she will need to grow.
Hallman is a young guard with skill and IQ. Her fundamentals are solid and polished for a kid her age. More importantly is her grasp on how the game works. She knows where to be and where to go depending on how the defense plays her. Although left-handed, Hallman appears to be capable of using either hand well on the perimeter. She spotted up to hit jumpers well on the perimeter and cut hard when the defense overplayed the reversal pass to her along the arc. She still has room to grow physically. With time we believe that Hallman will flourish into a player who can realize her potential. – Coach Hemi
