Trumm is a shooting specialist that requires the attention of defenders as soon as she steps on the court. She can be a perfect compliment to a slashing point guard who can draw double teams. Trumm is also showing improved confidence in her driving ability. This skill will help keep the defense honest as they close out on her. Trumm will need to be careful not to settle for too many contested 3-point shots in the future. Even good shooters can turn into mediocre ones if they take tough shots.
Trumm is a guard who shot the ball very well at this camp. She showed range well beyond the 3-point arc with consistency. Trumm is on the track to become a specialist who can punish defenders for helping off on her or closing out late. Her fundamental skills are solid as well. She can handle the ball effectively on the perimeter while also finding the open player on the interior or off the cut. Adding physical strength should only help her effectiveness to play at higher levels in the future. One area that she can grow immediately is her point guard skills. Proving that she can impact the game in more ways than just shooting will definitely add value for her.
Trumm is a young guard with a bright future in front of her. Currently more of a combo guard, she can contribute immediately with her ability to hit the open jumper. When asked to play the point position, she will need to work on using the dribble more efficiently to create space. Just in middle school, Trumm is in the right spot to make big gains in future years.
