This was my first Film Room Scouting evaluation on Barton’s game. It’s obvious right away that she can play the game with the pace needed to be effective on either end of the floor. Barton can shoot the 3-pointer off the catch. That skill gives her the ability to play on or off the basketball at the college level. Barton is good with the basketball in her hands and is a willing tempo pusher in that regard. She will make the advance pass up ahead to a teammate for a quick basket in transition. As the game keeps evolving into teams utilizing multiple point guard types on the floor simultaneously, Barton’s skill set is perfectly tailored to fit that. Off the floor, look for Barton to make real strides physically over the next 12 to 24 months in the weight room. She plays the game with such energy especially on the defensive end that continuing to add muscle will only assist in her production.
