This was my first time getting an evaluation on Layton for the College Scouting Database. She is a knockdown shooter who projects as one of the premier shotmakers in the sophomore class inside of the Tarheel State. Layton missed some time this calendar year with an injury but is back as if she never left. She’s enrolled at Ambassador Chrisian and is playing alongside a roster full of college level prospects. That will only aid Layton’s day-to-day development as a secondary basketball handler against pressure. She is more than comfortable shooting the open corner 3-pointer. Layton also showed the skill to hit a mid-range pull up jumper. Her footwork and form on that shot reminds me of Lydia Ledford (Chattanooga signee). – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
