| Simmons is a veteran Check Me Out Showcase player and every event she gets better. The biggest growth I've seen in her game is her confidence in her shot. She has always pulled the trigger from beyond the arc, but this weekend she looked like she believed it was going in. She has really grown in a lot of areas and her change of speeds dribbling the basketball was exciting to see in her. She is starting to use the hesitation move to get to the basket more, which helped her get some seperation. Going forward, Simmons needs develop a more consistent mid-range pull-up and focus on being in touch with her "motor" out on the court. If she can find a little more relentlessness and fire in her belly to compete day in and day out on the court, I think that will raise her game overnight just by mentality competing at a higher level. |
