This was my first chance to sit and breakdown Morelli’s game on film. She proved this spring / summer that she is a more than capable shot making option and already has recruiting traction as a result. Morelli was one of the E32 15-and-Under League’s top scoring options all season long averaging just shy of 17 points per contest. In a state that’s long been known for producing offensively skilled prospects, Morelli brings just that. She has a good feel in transition on when to pass the basketball or keep it for the finish. As she continues to progress, look for Morelli to keep growing with her playmaking off the wing as teams start to lock and trail her on any screen action. I’d also expect her to see a lot of “no touch, no catch” packages as well with defenses scheming to try and prevent her getting the basketball. In that aspect, look for Morelli to take a page from some of the game’s greats including Stephen Curry and be the best conditioned athlete on the floor game to game to move seamlessly around the court without the basketball. There’s a lot to like about Morelli’s foundation. She comes from a family of next level athletes, so she understands the work it takes to succeed in college. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
