This was my first time breaking down film on Lane. It’s easy to see why she already possess multiple scholarship offers. Immediately, there is a lot to like about her game. Lane shoots the 3-pointer well and with range out to the 23-foot mark. She will push the basketball in transition. Most lead guards struggle with making the advance pass. That’s an area where Lane thrives. She is looking to get the basketball up the floor quickly whether that’s her attacking off the dribble or finding a teammate who has a 1 on 1 matchup up ahead. When Lane keeps the basketball, she’s looking to get into the paint to make a play. In that regard, Lane is a willing passer with her eyes open for a post player or a corner kickout 3-pointer. Her ability to be impactful on the defensive end of the hardwood did not go unnoticed either. She is a more than capable option in that aspect of the game. I expect Lane to keep working on her physical stature over the next 12 months before she heads to college.
