Merrell is turning into a very solid option on the perimeter. She's capable of making things happen on the perimeter offensively and showed her that the game doesn't force her into unnecessary mistakes. Merrell's ability to navigate her way through the game efficiently is something to keep an eye on. That's a place where she's grown over the past 12 months. An area for Merrell to continue growing in is finishing with contact. That will add another layer to her game. -- Brandon Clay
The biggest thing I appreciate in Merrell's game is her willingness to work. There's no question that she will put the time in to improve her shooting. Merrell showed here that she'll hold her followthrough giving her shot a legitimate chance to go in. She's also improved getting her shooting base under her shoulders. The next step in Merrell's progression will be keeping her guide hand on the side of the basketball. -- Brandon Clay
