Olson, a guard with considerable size, demonstrated the ability to handle the ball and finish at the rim even in the presence of contact. She also possesses excellent court awareness, which enables her to spot and connect with teammates who are making cuts or moving without the ball. Her work ethic, as observed throughout the weekend and in her skill work, is a notable attribute that speaks to her dedication and commitment to improving her game.
Olson is a do-it-all player, extremely tough, gritty with a great motor and work ethic. She has winning traits. She is willing to do whatever she can and is best for her team. She rebounds, defends multiple positions, is scrappy and can score it in a variety of ways.
Olson is a solid spot up shooter. She has a compact release which allows her to get her shot out quickly. She primarily plays on the wing as a complimentary player. Still in middle school, Olson still has plenty of upside left to claim on both ends of the floor. However, she is showing a mastery of the fundamentals and the mental side of the game. Becoming more comfortable as a lead handler especially versus pressure should be a goal of hers in the upcoming years.
Olson is a 5-foot-7 guard in the 2027 class. She does a good job of cleaning up loose balls and workking the glass. She’s not heavily involved in the offense yet, but she keeps active spacing. She has good size and strength to play on the wing, but needs to continue to develop her ball skills. She hustles out on the floor, but needs to dial in a few details like boxing out consistently, to give her that grandfathered position in the paint. The activity and aggressive pursuit of the ball at an early age is fantastic.
