This was my first time breaking down film on Jaekel. ProspectsNation.com Managing Editor, Chris Hansen, has raved about her game from his Elite Is Earned events. He's dead on based on what I saw jump at me in the Filmroom. Jaekel is both an outside shot maker as well as a willing attacker off the bounce getting two feet into the paint. On the defensive end of the floor, Jaekel is active and bouncy. Her effort on that end really caught my attention. In an era where everyone is looking to score the ball, Jaekel's commitment to also playing defense was refreshing. As she continues to get physically stronger, look for Jaekel to be an even more effective and efficient presence on the offensive end as a result. Jaekel is a shooting/scoring guard who possesses good athleticism and a quick first step. She has length and good size that helps her get her shot off over defenders and finish on smaller guards. She is outstanding defensively in the passing lanes and can pressure the ball. Using these gifts to become a consistent combo guard option would make her even more valuable.
Jaekel brings size and length to the backcourt position. As a 2025, she is showing symptoms of a high IQ player that can make reads from the facilitating position and in the scorer row. She showed a hint of her arsenal with a pump fake to a one dribble pull up in the midrange. As a young floor general, her ability to size up situations, communicate with her teammates and scoring potential is high. She can shoot it off the bounce on the perimeter and takes initiative one on one to break down her defender to the rim. She displayed a nice crossover series at the top of the paint that shows her ball skill is dialed in. Overall, she scores, drives, rebounds, and makes things happen.
