Deyak has a tremendous feel for the game, a trait we've seen grow over the past several years. She is sharp and sees plays developing ahead of time. She is a great passer. She becomes more dynamic with her ability to connect consistently with the three pointer. Adding a second level of scoring will take her game up another notch.
Deyak is a shifty player. She is a shooter and can score in bunches if she gets set on the perimeter. She is a high IQ guard and she sees the play developing. Her craftiness creates a lot of looks her teammates by getting the ball in the right spot. Going forward, consistency beyond the arc and building more strength are key for her over the next year or so. She is a dynamic backcourt player so her continuing to build on her current skillset is huge going forward.
Deyak, class of 2024 guard out of Maple Valley, Wash., During breakdowns, she showed a quick behind the back dribble that allowed her change of direction at the rim. That shiftiness translates to so many opportunities on the floor in terms of getting herself looks at the basket and in the midrange. Going forward, would like to see more looks for her beyond the arc and utilizing a stop and pop in the lane. Overall, Deyak glides well to the rim and has extension on her layups. In the spotlight, she had a nice hesitation to the basket and a good head fake before she scored. She plays the game with good awareness and it will be great to compare notes with her growth over the next year.
