Jones best days of basketball are still in front of her. That is saying something as she is an athletic wing that can impact the game consistently on the court. She showed play-making skills with the ball in her hands. She can see the court and can deliver the ball promptly to her teammates when the help rotates towards her. When she is in one-on-one situations, however, she uses her body well to fend off defenders and finish at the rim. As she becomes more polished with her off hand, we expect to see Jones become a consistent performer at the collegiate level.
Jones continues to grow her overall game. She’s added some strength to her frame and is noticeably more willing to attack the lane to score. Jones length and skill set package give her a bright upside over the next 12 months. If she can stretch opposing defenses with her outside shot, watch out.
Jones missed this eval with a sprained ankle suffered the week before in Cincinnati. In watching her game in Ohio, the slender guard makes plays off the bounce and is shooting it better than she did last summer as well. She seems locked in to her development. Continuing to add strength physically will help her cause.
Jones has great length for a wing player. Her offensive specialty is the ability to slash to the bucket and make things happen with the dribble. She is also a solid jump shooter when her feet are set. The tools are there for Jones, however gaining confidence to make those plays consistently in 5/5 situations are the hurdle for her to overcome.
