2017 & 2018: Check Me Out Seattle
Borter, 5'11 small forward in the 2021 class. Defensively, she does her job well defending, boxing out and rebounding. What I love about watching her play is how persistent she is. She plays hard, crashes hard and when she sees a lane in transition, she will attack it hard. Finishing at the rim and creating space as she elevates is a movement she can work on around the basket because she has the strength and length to be effective on both blocks. In transition she had back-to-back left handed layups that she positioned herself to create. She did knock down a 3-ball at the top of the key which is great for when she playing that stretch 4-position. Overall, Borter has some solid mismatch opportunities to her game on both ends of the floor because of how hard she plays and commits to each possession.
Borter is a versatile player with tremendous size and length at the wing position. She has an ability to play freely on both ends and get out and push pace. We saw her grab a defensive rebound and take the ball coast to coast which is a strong skill to be able to transition that smoothly and in control. Adding more quickness and range beyond 15 feet to her game is something she can look to improve, but overall, Borter is a strong presence on either end of the floor. She works hard to get open and wants the ball in her hands. She was one of the main go-to players in a talented setting and had good technique around the rim. When she is being aggressive on the floor, good things happen for her team.
