Over the weekend, Florida State coach Sue Semrau and her staff picked up a verbal commitment from 2018 wing Kourtney Weber of New Orleans, Louisiana. Weber, a 5-foot-10 wing, chose Florida State over offers and interest from a wide range of ACC and SEC schools as the four-star prospect was one of the highly sought after wings in the 2018 class.  

For Florida State, Weber is an active scoring option that will help them replace the production lost by current players Imani Wright and Brittany Brown.  At the end of the summer, our Prospects Nation site wrote the following about Weber’s play in the 2016 July evaluation period. 

“Kourtney Weber (Louisiana) - Weber's game has taken off as of late. She is getting better overall as a scorer and slasher and now shows the ability to make plays on the move while still being an accurate perimeter shooter. As you look at the 2018 class as a whole, Weber has emerged as one of the better wing scorers.”

Weber’s addition to Florida State represents their first commitment in the 2018 class. Look for coach Semrau and her staff to focus on adding size with their remaining 2018 scholarships as they are set to lose three frontcourt players at the end of next season.
