Darby is a crafty left-handed guard who makes plays in array of ways on the court. Her quick, compact release allows her to shoot the ball with consistency from distance. She is equally effective off the dribble. She gets downhill with the dribble and will finish off the move in traffic. Her quick feet and good instincts make her an impactful player on both ends of the court. She can check a lot of bigger or even quicker guards with her toughness and anticipation. Darby will need to maximize her athleticism with strength and conditioning in upcoming years. She will consistently face guards who are bigger than her in future games. Making sure that she has the core strength and foot quickness to combat that disadvantage will be big for her.
Darby is a young guard who demonstrated very good ball handling skill for her age. She is just in middle school, yet has the ability to handle the ball versus players who are several years her elder. She has a very good base of skill that should blossom in years to come. Learning to trust her game and instincts is very important for her moving forward.
