Kiefer is a guard who has steadily improved her skill set over the past 12 months. She is becoming a confident handler with a good all-around skill set. She is showing confidence in knocking down shots in drills and can also hit open shots in competition. The strength of her may lay on the defensive end where she gives superb effort to harass opposing ball handlers. Offensively she is showing a good feel for the game by not forcing the issue, but instead focusing on making the next right play. As good as her ball handling has become she still has room to grow in terms of her effectiveness when she faces pressure. Making sure that she does not get sped by traps and continuing to dictate where the ball goes with the pass is important as a point guard.
Kiefer showed herself to an aggressive defender this weekend. Her footwork while defending the basketball was very good. Her ability to pick up concepts in drill work again was exceptional. Working on handling pressure while handling the ball will be of the utmost importance moving forward.
Kiefer made a solid first impression at the EBA Top 40 Camp with her strong fundamentals and rock solid work ethic. She is a floor general in the making with her steady ball handling and willness to distribute to her teammates. Kiefer still has physical maturity and game experience in her future. As she crosses those bridges we will be able to determine what her specialty will be moving forward.
