MARIETTA, Ga. – The second day of the inaugural Real Deal in the ATL provided action and upsets. In the National Fall Showcase division, it was the Douglasville Lady Tigers who caught fire and ran away with the championship. As always, Tanya Jackson’s team brought energy and toughness to the floor, which led to consecutive victories over the Lady Phoenix and the Winston Salem Stealers. Amidst the upsets Thursday, there were several individual players who stood above the rest. Here is a quick look at a few of those players.

Cameron Nieters (Clemmons, N.C.) – Winston-Salem Stealers Grant 2014

At 6-foot-1, Nieters provides size and skill on the court. She has a nice stroke from the perimeter and has the ball skill to be an effective handler in the half-court offense. However, what Nieters is most known for is her hustle and activeness for her team. Her willingness to take charges and dive after loose balls is a staple in Nieters’ game. The face-up four player gave her verbal commitment to Harvard a few weeks ago. Her high IQ in the classroom translates on the court as she is able to make the easy basketball play in most situations. Amanda Leahy, Nieters future assistant coach at Harvard, had to be pleased with as she watched on the back wall of All Tournament Players Park.

#ProspectsNationTV and Brandon Clay look at the stars of the last day of the Real Deal In The ATL:

AROUND THE RIM

♦ Scoring guard Jada Byrd of Lithonia, Ga., bounced back with a solid performance today. The 2014 prospect who has garnered college interest from around the country got back to her playing form on day two. She created offense through her defense and finished nicely in transition in both of her games her Thursday.

Taylor Gordon of Powder Springs, Ga. who is currently ranked No. 79 in the 2014 ELITE 100, had a productive tournament. The 5-10 wing moved well without the ball and scored the ball in the lane off of curl cuts. Her size presents a match-up problem for smaller defenders, while her touch around the rim allows her to score consistently.

♦ A big part of the Douglasville Lady Tigers coming away with a championship on Thursday was the play of class of 2015 forward Anriel Howard. The 6-0 forward provided the defense and rebounding needed to win. The intriguing athlete affects the game consistently with her high motor.

#ProspectsNationTV Play of the Week comes from 2015 ELITE 60 PG Te’a Cooper of AOT:
