Amber Richardson of Garner, North Carolina, was released from North Carolina State at the semester break. The 6-foot sophomore guard has decided to transfer to Alabama and will enroll immediately. She will become eligible next December for the Tide.
Richardson, who was a four-star, ELITE 100 recruit in the 2015 class, averaged 10.6 minutes per game as a freshman and was averaging 8.8 minutes per game through eight games as a sophomore.
For NC State, the addition of Arizona State transfer Armani Hawkins will help fill the void by the departure of Richardson.
