AUGUSTA, Ga., -- The second session of the ELITE32 Summer Jam started with a bang with an explosive matchup between Exodus NYC and the GA Hoopstars. With no shortage of elite prospects in the building, standing out was anything but easy.

Over the years we have been wowed by the amazing play of Cuevas. The 5-foot-9 point guard from New York can do things that most point guards can only dream of doing. She is virtually unstoppable in the open court and quite a challenge for defenses once she steps into the frontcourt. The ELITE 100 point guard has many weapons in her arsenal nearly all of which begins with her ballhandling skill. Her ability to create separation from defenders is a work of art and opens up scoring opportunities either by her slashing to the basket or pouring in shots from beyond the arc. The noted improvement in her ability to make shots from the perimeter adds a real dynamic to her game.

Cuevas is not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court, and when she is on, opponents are at the mercy of how many points she would like to score. She has shown the ability to completely take over a game. The top 20 prospect has ice in her veins and plays with calmness as the intensity of the game increases. Several top colleges around the nation are hoping to get that call informing them they are getting one of the best point guards in the country.

AROUND THE RIM

♦ The second half of the July evaluation is nearing its final days and class of 2015 prospect Meredith Schulte is taking advantage of this opportunity to show that she belongs on the ELITE 150 watch list. Schulte made the decision to join a different team after the mid-July break. She joined the Deep South Elite and had an immediate impact. Twenty-six must be her lucky number, because she has had back-to-back games where she scored that number. Production like that drew a lot of attention from coaches on the first day of the ELITE32 Summer Jam II.

Nichole Collins, a rising junior in the class of 2015, was one of the players on a talented Lady Hoop Booth team that caught our attention. The 5-7 point guard is a creative scorer and has the ability to create scoring opportunities for her teammates. She also has the versatility to play off the ball where she has a knack for getting to the open spot. Collins has a scorer’s mentality and there are not many shots that she does not like.
