New Mexico State has had great news on the recruiting front the last couple of weeks. Mark Trakh and his staff landed two verbal commitments, first Jaelyn Royal of Las Vegas, Nevada, and days later Makayla Mabry of San Antonio, Texas.
Immediately both players bring a wealth of length to the Aggies lineup. This should pair well with the program’s marquee 2016 signee Najiyyah Pack, a 6-0 guard from Phoenix, Ariz.
Royal is a 6-0 sharpshooter with elite size who should benefit from Pack’s ability to beat people off the dribble and find teammates with the pass. Mabry is a stretch four player who can score both inside and out. At 6-2 her ability to defend inside coupled with her ability stretch defenses with her range should provide matchup issues in the Western Athletic Conference.
