Class of 2018 guard Dara Mabrey, one of the best shooters in this year's senior class, has committed to Virginia Tech. Mabrey, who is the younger sister of former Notre Dame wing Michaela Mabrey and current Notre Dame wing Marina Mabrey, gives Virginia Tech coach Kenny Brooks and his staff a tough-minded guard who has proven herself as a winner.
During her recruiting process, the four-star guard considered a number of programs including Miami and Virginia before ultimately making the pledge to Brooks and his staff at Virginia Tech. For the Hokie’s Mabrey’s addition is a crucial puzzle piece as they continue to build at the ACC program. Class of 2018 point guard Shaniya Jones is already committed to Virginia Tech and set to join Mabrey in Blacksburg next year while the 2019 class already has an impact prospect committed with Cayla King on the board.
