King, Lowery, Brown Among This Week's Verbals
Cayla King

Class of 2019 guard Cayla King of Northwest Guilford HS (NC) and Greensboro Lady Gaters PSBFamily commits to Virginia Tech.  — Brandon Clay

MY TAKE: King is emerging as one of the premier guards in the 2019 class regionally. She is a big guard capable of handling, passing and shooting the ball. King's ability to make a play when need be offensively is a special gift at the elite level. She was sidelined with an injury this summer but Kenny Brooks added a major piece to the puzzle in Blacksburg with King.

Class of 2018 prospect Madison Lowery of TPLS Christian Academy (VA) and Team Loaded announced her commitment to UMass.  — Brandon Clay

MY TAKE: Lowery is a swing forward option who showed here that she can step out and hit the open 3-point shot. Skill wise, she might be at her best as a fourth ball handler in most offenses / defenses at the next level. UMass coach Tony Verdi will be able to use her in multiple aspects of the game.

Class of 2018 guard Jakayla Brown of St. Mary's Ryken HS (Leonardtown, MD) announced her commitment to Hofstra.  — Brandon Clay

MY TAKE: Brown has good size on the wing. A right-handed prospect, she is an capable shooter based on this eval though not necessarily an elite specialist in that regard. I didn't see a definitive go-to specialty but Brown was more than able to compete / produce throughout the game here.
