Hubbard Picks UGA
Kaila Hubbard gives Georgia another key in-state addition

This weekend class of 2018 forward Kaila Hubbard of Jonesboro, Georgia made a verbal pledge to Georgia coach Joni Taylor and her staff.  Hubbard, who made an official visit to Georgia over the weekend was a key piece on this summers Nike National Championship team, Team Elite. The No. 62 ranked player in the ELITE 150 will bring versatility to Georgia as she has the size to play in the frontcourt but has shown playmaking ability that will allow her to handle the ball and play on the perimeter.

For Georgia, the addition of Hubbard is a sign of continued recruiting momentum after adding 2019 forward Javyn Nicholson in August. In addition to being one of the top players nationally, both Hubbard and Nicholson are key in-state target for the SEC program as they work to keep priority in-state targets at home while also recruiting key national prospects. With Hubbard on the board in 2018, Georgia now has the foundation for a 2018 class that could put together some of the best of the Peach State with some of the best players in the country. Among the players interested in the SEC school are Jordan Nixon, an ELITE 150 point guard from New York, Donetta Johnson, an ELITE 150 wing from New York, and Olivia Nelson-Ododa an ELITE 150 post from Georgia. Nixon, Johnson, and Ododa have yet to make college decisions, but if Taylor and her staff can land just one member of that trio, they will be in good shape, if multiple members of that group head to Athens for college the Georgia Bulldogs will have one of the elite recruiting classes nationally.

As we countdown to signing day in November look for Georgia to be active with visits and recruiting news. With Hubbard as their lone 2018 pledge, the SEC school will be looking to add as Taylor, and her staff continue to build.
