Jenna Villa

SEATTLE – Class of 2023 wing Jenna Villa of Arlington, Washington, is one of the nation’s top shooters and a marquee name on recruiting lists in the western region for 2023.  She’s holds countless mid major offers as well as Power 5 offers from the Pac-12 and Big 12.  We’ve been in the gym multiple times this year with Villa and will again in two weeks in Iowa for Check Me Out Midwest.

Villa is one of my favorite prospects in the class to train with. She always comes in focused and ready to work on her game. Since my first evaluation of her at the Check Me Out Showcase as a seventh grader, Villa’s game has continued to level up each and every year with multiple training sessions in Dallas, Iowa and Seattle along the way. A potential Ivy League caliber student, Villa has NCAA Tournament caliber program length on the wing in addition to true shot making ability on the perimeter.

Having watched Villa work at individual training sessions in her hometown of Arlington as well as spending countless hours on the floor with her at camps and training sessions she has earned my respect with her work ethic and coachability.  She’s embraced the roll as an elite shooter and has mastered footwork off of several actions to get her shot loaded and released.  Watching her team in July, the confidence they had in her in big moments was telling.  You can throw her in the paint against a smaller defender and she’ll willingly go to work where most kids who shoot like her you won’t find inside of 20 feet for any reason.  She impressed a lot this spring in Austin, Texas, showing she could defend multiple Power 5 commits.  As she turns her attention to building a strong counter game I look forward to seeing her ability to create grow.
