BOISE, Idaho – Class of 2024 wing Avery Howell of Boise, Idaho, is one of the most intriguing prospects west of the Rockies. The ELITE 150 prospect has been a Player of the Week candidate nearly every week for Boise High School with multiple 20-plus-point and 20-rebound games. Her recruitment is heating up as well with multiple Pac-12 schools tracking the 6-foot prospect who holds offers from Gonzaga, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, as well as numerous Big West, Big Sky, Mountain West and WCC schools.
Howell we’ve seen in three different settings in the last 18 months. First with her high school then with her META Hoops club team and finally in two different Elite Is Earned camp series events. What stands out most is her versatility not just in ability but willingness to invest in different roles for her team. Throw her in the front court and her length and quickness will produce. She’s put in work with us and clearly with her other coaches on being a weapon in the middle third, high post area. She’s also put a lot of time into her ballhandling and shooting so that she can be a mismatch when guarded by forward. Howell is a joy to coach with her energy and coachability.
