Meredith Schulte of Braselton, Ga., is one of the top class of 2015 scoring forwards inside the Peach State.
Vitals
Name: Meredith Schulte Grad Year: 2015 Location: Braselton, Ga. School: Mill Creek HS Current Position: SF Projected Position: SF
Strengths
Schulte is a unique prospect in that her size and skill allow her to play as many as three positions on the floor offensively. A 6-foot forward, we project that she will be able to play either forward position in addition to possessing the skill needed to spend time as a bigger shooting guard in stretches as well. Schulte shoots a high percentage from beyond the arc when she has her feet set. Shes got a powerful build and loves to attack the rim off of the bounce going to the right. We love that she is not afraid to get on the interior and rebound the basketball as well. At the Elite Basketball Academy Fab Five Camp over Labor Day Weekend, Schulte was one of the more versatile prospects in the building regardless of class.
Area To Improve
A four-star rated prospect, Schulte can continue to expand her game by adding a consistent left hand finish around the basket. Being able to finish around the rim with her off hand will allow her to adjust if opposing defenders decide to commit to taking her right-handed drive away in the half court set. If she can continue to focus on dominating the glass rebounding wise from the perimeter, Schulte only gives her future college coach more reason to keep her on the floor in vital situations.
The Bottom Line
Schultes development over the past two years came to fruition in late-July as she received the floor time needed against top competition to shine. The scoring forward responded by making life hard for defenders and drawing the interest of multiple Division I schools in the process. That interest should continue to grow as there is a lack of prospects who can score the basketball the way that Schulte does.
