A 2015 guard, Kelsee Arnold gets it done on the court and in the classroom.
Vitals
Name: Kelsee Arnold Grad Year: 2015 Location: Jonesboro, Ga. School: Mundys Mill Current Position: SG Projected Position: SG
Strengths
Arnolds speed is an asset, especially in the open floor. She finishes well with either hand in transition at the rim. That said, she also has developed a nice game off of the bounce as she likes to shoot the floater in traffic. Shes also a willing secondary ball handler, capable of helping against full-court defensive pressure. A swift-footed guard, Arnold showed at the Elite Basketball Academy Fab Five Camp that she is a capable on-ball defender as well. That ability to create possessions with her play defensively gives Arnold even more value as a potential recruit at the collegiate level.
Area To Improve
Arnold can continue to develop the consistency on her outside jump shot. She has become a good free-throw shooter, making 76 percent of her attempts during the 2012-13 high school season. That statistic shows that she has the mechanics to be effective with her feet set at the line. Proving that she can produce the same consistently from beyond the 3-point arc will only help to make Arnold a tough matchup for opposing perimeter defenders. In addition, adding upper body strength will help prepare her for the increased amount of contact that she will see when she arrives on campus.
The Bottom Line
With a 3.964 overall GPA, Arnold is a prospect capable of performing both in the classroom and on the hardwood. Shes a Beta Club member and based on her progression over the past twelve months, a guard dedicated to improving yearly. Arnold will have multiple chances to continue to show her development this high school season as a key component of her Mundys Mill high team.
