MARIETTA, Ga. The second weekend of the Elite Basketball Academy Fab Five Camp is all about the underclassmen. With players from 14 states representing in both sessions this weekend, we take a look at a pair of freshmen standouts from the first day of action.
Alayjah Sherer (Tupelo, Miss.), Tupelo HS 2017
When you have the opportunity to play with some of the top kids in your class you have to be willing to put in the work to show where you stand. Alayjah Sherer showed she was ready to work and get better. She participated in the early session of drills and competition and also returned at the end of the day for the optional development session. We were impressed with the intensity in her approach to the afternoon session. At 5 feet 11, Sherer possesses a multitude of skills that are the foundation of her becoming a player with the ability to impact the game from several positions.
Natalie Collins (Louisville, Ky.), Eastern HS 2017
Natalie Collins is no stranger to the game and is one of the hardest working kids in this upcoming class. She performed well this summer with her Kentucky Premier team and is always working to get that competitive edge. The 5-10 shooting guard has the ability to knock down shots from beyond the 3-point line as well as get to the basket off the dribble. The growth of her basketball acumen is apparent in the decisions she is making on the floor. The scoring potential is there and matches with her desire to be a complete player. Collins is destined to be a player with a good basketball future. Follow @StephenPeckPSB
