Cummings to Ga Tech

Cummings to Ga Tech

On Monday, four-star point guard Taja Cummings of East Point, Ga., made a verbal pledge to Georgia Tech coach Machelle Joseph and her staff.  With her commitment, Cummings becomes the first member of the class of 2017 to make a verbal pledge to the ACC School.

For Georgia Tech, Cummings will provide them with a natural point guard who will be able to run their offense and create scoring opportunities late in the shot clock. She has a well-developed frame and brings an aggressive nature to a team that looks to pressure the basketball and play an up-tempo brand of basketball.  During the high school season, Cummings is the lead playmaker for St. Francis (Alpharetta) one of the top high school programs in the country. While during the summer she is the starting point guard for FBC Motten, one of the best summer teams in the country. The combination of competitive play in both the high school season as well as in the summer should have Cummings ready to contribute early in her college career.

In their 2016 class, Georgia Tech has added a three-player class consisting of four-star guard Zutorya Cook, four-star post, Anne Diouf of Eustis, Fla and four-star wing Francesca Pan of Italy.  With their remaining 2017 scholarships look for the Yellow Jackets to key in on size, with size on the perimeter as well as around the rim being a focus.
