In landing Diana Collins, Georgia coach Joni Taylor continues a string of landing some of the Peach State elite high school perimeter recruits during her tenure in Athens. That list includes current Bulldog starter Que Morrison. Collins has gotten off to a fantastic start this season for her school team with her latest outing coming with a 23-point outburst on five 3-pointers in a win on Wednesday night. An Elite150 prospect, Collins is one of the premier lead guards nationally. She’ll provide Taylor’s program with another upper echelon guard capable of stretching the floor with her outside shot and playing either as the lead ballhandler or off the ball scoring option too.
Recent Evaluation - Fall 2021:
Collins showed really well in an elite grouping of guards being instructed by former McDonald’s All-American Ashley Corral. Like Corral in her day, Collins has the toolbox needed to be a true PG1 at the next level. When she gets a chance to play in these situations, Collins is as talented of a point guard as any we’ve seen in the class nationally. She is a driver with a tough pull up and the skill needed to hit the open 3-pointer too. For Collins, being in a position to play this freely is vital to showcasing her full arsenal of offensive and defensive tools.
