Beyond The Numbers: NC State

Beyond The Numbers: NC State
Zamareya Jones

North Carolina State has gotten off to one of the best starts in the country this season. That success is due in large part to landing three Elite 100 ranked prospects in the 2023 class: Zoe Brooks, Mallory Collier and Laci Steele. Their Class of 2024 recruiting haul is just as productive if not even more impressive.

Coach Wes Moore and his staff added two guards who will be ready to contribute early in their career in Zamareya Jones and Devyn Quigley as well as a post to groom for the future in Lorena Awou.

Jones, who is a potential high school All American candidate next spring, is one of the bigger in-state recruits in program history. She’ll bring a dynamic tempo pushing guard option who can score the basketball and distribute. Quigley, who is another Elite 60 recruit, will be a perfect compliment to Jones as her game thrives off of catch and shoot opportunities. Moore was in Atlanta at the end of July to watch Quigley live with her Exodus NYC club.

Both Jones and Quigley should blend in nicely with the current freshman guards in Brooks and Steele. In the frontcourt, the Wolfpack added Lorena Awou to the mix. Awou will give them a legitimate 6-foot-5 presence in the paint who can grow into a solid contributor as well.
