#PSBPreSeason Team of the Day: Team Elite Pointer Jr EYBL

Championship Day Standout Performers

Zutorya Cook (Powder Springs, Ga.), Team Elite 16U EYBL – 2016

The recent Georgia Tech commit took a hold of point guard duties on Sunday afternoon at the most critical time in a match-up versus Kentucky Premier. Her playmaking abilities while running the offense for coach Kirk Pointer’s team is a notable development in the 5-foot-6 guard’s game. She ran the pick and roll offense to perfection and made great decisions against one of the nation’s best travel teams. Her on-ball defense is a big reason why Connecticut commit Crystal Dangerfield could not find a rhythm for much of the first half. All of this helped Team Elite claim the championship in the @BrandonClayPSB bracket. Cook is poised to make an impact many facets of the game for Team Elite this spring as they face some of the nation’s best competition.

Erin Boley (Hodgenville, Ky.), Kentucky Premier 16U EYBL – 2016

A mark of a special player is one who has achieved success in the past, but still finds a way to get better in the present. Boley’s performance last weekend is an example of how special she can be in future years. The 6-3 forward showed willingness to post and score offensively while also being able to defend the same position on the other end of the floor. The attention that she draws with her back to the basket draws double teams consistently. However, what makes Boley an elite player is her versatile skill set. She has the passing acumen of a guard, the shooting touch of a wing, all while having the willingness to take the big shot in big moments. The Notre Dame commit is currently ranked No. 17 in the nation and will be in the conversation as a candidate for the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year next year.

LeJzae Davidson (Nashville, Tenn.), Team BWright Junior – 2016

Davidson burst onto the national scene this weekend with a big performance in the championship game versus the Carolina All-Stars. Her 28 points, which included six 3-pointers, powered coach Spencer Richardson’s team to a championship in the @KeilMoorePSB bracket. Standing at 5-4, Davidson projects as a point guard at the next level, but because of her shooting specialty the ball she spends time at the shooting guard position as well. She is impressive moving off of screens and getting her feet set to knock down the long range shot. For the weekend the junior guard connected on 20 total threes and averaged 25 points in the three bracket games at the Pre-Season Shootout. Davidson will be one of the many reasons why the Team BWright organization gets noticed more often this spring and summer.

Sydne Wiggins (Powder Springs, Ga.), Team Elite Sophomore – 2017

Coming off the bench does not necessarily mean that a player will put up reserve numbers. This 5-10 guard proved that on Championship Sunday by scoring a game-high 27 points and leading her team to a championship in the @JLHemingwayPSB bracket. Wiggins is a versatile scorer who has range to the 3-point arc and can shake defenders to score at the rim. With a slender frame and long arms, she has the length to score the ball in traffic, but she has the ball handling skill to run the team from the lead guard position. She put together impressive back-to-back performances at PSB tournaments this spring and is positioning herself as an ELITE 60 watch-list player in her class.
