Walsh To Northwestern

Walsh To Northwestern
Caileigh Walsh

Caileigh Walsh, the 6-foot-4 post from Sparta, New Jersey, verbally committed to Northwestern. The No. 11 ranked forward chose the Wildcats over UCLA and Vanderbilt.

Walsh’s ascent into the nation’s elite began during a week long stretch at the Brandon Clay Scouting Summer Invite and Brandon Clay Scouting Elite 32 last July. After that showing, Walsh circled back to the Brandon Clay Scouting All American Training Academy in the fall and put on a show in a gym full of her peers. Armed with a unique combination of size, skill and athleticism, Walsh is a more than capable producer on both ends of the hardwood. She’ll bring the 2020 Big Ten Champions a consistent threat to their inside-outside game offensively as she can shoot the ball out beyond the 3-point line already.

“Walsh had an absolutely fantastic end to her summer,” Chris Hansen, the managing editor of ProspectsNation.com said.  “She carried that momentum into the fall and 2020.  She put herself on the radar for discussion for all the post-season awards and all-star games.  There just aren’t many bigs that have her face-up skill set and the basketball IQ of when to use it.”

Walsh is the fourth member of Northwestern’s 2021 recruiting haul. She is joining what could be the league’s top incoming freshman class headlined by fellow BCS Select 24 member Jillian Brown of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Brandon Clay serves as the Director of Scouting for ProspectsNation.com and owns The BrandonClayScouting.com Evaluation Report, which is read by more than 200 colleges and universities nationwide. He also serves as the Executive Skills Director for the Brandon Clay Scouting Academy Series.
