While the ProspectsNation.com staff has been crisscrossing the country covering showcases and camps of regional and national consequent, the recruiting race has been charging forward outside the gym.
Bigby To Oregon
In the midst of signing a mega, national class in 2020, the Oregon Ducks jumped ahead and grabbed the first Duck of 2021 in Taylor Bigby. The 5-foot-11 inch guard from Las Vegas, Nevada, is ranked 15th in the ProspectsNation.com ELITE 60 for the junior class.
Bigby, who has played all three perimeter positions at a high level, joins an Oregon program that has five top 50 commits in the 2020 class. Adding her to that group for three years give the Ducks incredible depth to build for life after Sabrina Ionescu, the favorite to be drafted No. 1 overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft.
FILLING THE POND
Sadler To Washington
The Huskies added a second four-star backcourt commit in 2020 with the addition of Tameiya Sadler of Concord, California. The 5-7 point guard is coming off a breakout summer where she jumped into the ELITE 100.
Sadler, who is a terrific on-ball defender and creates well off the bounce, joins Washington in-state commit Jada Noble of Medical Lake, Washington, an ELITE 150 Watch List prospect. The 5-11 guard is also an elite defender and this duo gives you a glimpse of where the Huskies are building their roster to be.
2020 DAWGS
Gaston To Miss State
Much like Oregon in 2020, the Bulldogs of Mississippi State are coming off a potentially program defining recruiting class in 2019. The 2020 class is shaping up to be a fantastic encore. The first piece was ELITE 60 wing Madison Hayes of Oolteway, Tennessee. Then this week the program added 6-2 forward DeYona’ Gaston of Pearland, Texas.
Coming off of three straight NCAA Elite Eight appearances and twice making the national championship game, these are exactly the kinds of recruiting gains to expect in Starkville.
Madison Scott To Ole Miss
Ole Miss is getting busy in recruiting this fall as well. The Rebels landed its third commit in the senior class with the addition of Madison Scott of Forestville, Maryland. The 6-2 swing player was a big part of the Team Takeover program that won the Nike GEYBL Nationals this summer.
Scott is the first ELITE 100 commit for Ole Miss as she joins four-star guard Jacorriah Bracey of Ruleville, Mississippi, and four-star forward Caitlin McGee of Jacksonville, Florida.
Samb Final Three
Fatou Samb, one of the most improved prospects in the 2020 class and a summer standout Cy-Fair Premier, is nearing her decision. The 6-4 post from Houston, Texas, will decide between her three finalists Cal, Harvard and Northwestern.
The four-star post will fill an immediate need for all three programs.
