As colleges teams across the country get a break between conference tournaments and the beginning of the NCAA Tournament, in-home visits are seemingly non-stop.  Here’s a first coast-to-coast look at some of the news in the recruiting world.

Parrish Full Tilt

Sydney Parrish of Fishers, Indiana, is one of the top prospects in the 2020 class.  The 6-foot-1 Gatorade State Player of the Year has become one of the nation’s top shooters with range well beyond the 3-point arc.

Parrish is on tap for six in-home visits this week in addition to Iowa visiting last week.  Her lineup this week includes Maryland, Tennessee, Oregon, UCLA, South Carolina and Indiana.  She has not set a firm timeline for her commitment but don’t expect to see her process going deep into the fall as she has been active early on with numerous unofficial visits.

Parrish, fresh off winning a state championship was in the gym in Carmel, Indiana at the CoachHemi.com Showcase.  She showed way more assertiveness off the dribble and looked way more physical in her style of play than we saw last summer.

Waggoner On Fire

Dontavia Waggoner of Nashville, Tennessee, is in the middle of a busy week as well.  The 6-1 wing had Florida on campus earlier this week and has Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech scheduled this week as well.  Mississippi State and North Carolina have also been in contact with her.

Waggoner, an explosive and versatile athlete who can play the wing or the forward spots, is rated a four-star recruit and was named state tournament MVP and Miss Basketball in Tennessee TSSAA D2.
