Arizona State added a second player to their 2018 class on Sunday when five-star Spanish wing Iris Junio made a verbal pledge to the PAC-12 school. A 6-foot guard, Junio is the most decorated international prospect in the 2018 class and should make an immediate impact as a wing scorer and playmaker for coach Charli Turner-Thorne and her staff.
Similar to previous four and five-star Spanish prospects from years past, Junio has the awareness to play in the halfcourt, make reads in and out of ball screen situations, and create looks for teammates as well as herself. But what separates Junio from most is her mix of elite athleticism and Spanish playmaking flair. While she projects well as a ball handling and playmaking option, she should also thrive as an on-ball defender, transition scorer, and rebounder. That package as a whole makes Junio an elite addition for the Pac-12 school.
With the verbal commitment from Junio, Arizona State has now gone international for both of their current 2018 pledges. Junio will join Canadian wing Taya Hanson as members of Arizona State's roster next fall.
