Vitals
Name: Kennedy Thomas Grad Year: 2014 Location: Powder Springs, Ga. School: Hillgrove HS Current Position: PG Projected Position: PG
Strengths
The most noticeable piece to Thomas game is her speed with the basketball. The 5-foot-4 point guard does a consistent job of finding either the rim for an easy basket or an open teammate in transition. Thomas showed with her Georgia Crush club team this season that not only can she make it happen on the offensive end, but that she is a force defensively as well. Her lateral quickness allows her to defend on the ball and break to the next pass as well. She anticipates well on that end of the hardwood.
Area To Improve
Look for Thomas to continue to improve as an outside shooter. A right-hand dominant guard, she shoots it well with her feet set out to the 3-point line. Right now, she is capable of consistently getting into the teeth of the defense. Adding a consistent jump shot off of the pull-up in addition to added confidence in her spot up 3-pointer will only enhance her skill set.
The Bottom Line
Thomas is sitting on a 4.0 GPA and is a National Honors Society member. Her willingness to attack the classroom the same way that she attacks the lane on the hardwood makes her a valuable prospect at the collegiate level. Look for her to be on a college roster this time next year.
