Vitals
Name: Ragan Wiseman Grad Year: 2016 Location: Floyd, Va. School: Floyd County Current Position: SG/SF Projected Position: SG/SF
Strengths
Wiseman is a talented young perimeter prospect who is starting to emerge as a high percentage shooter from beyond the arc. At just over 6-feet tall, she has ideal size for a perimeter threat with the range to match. At the PeachStateBasketball.com Tip-Off Classic in April, the three-star freshman showed that ability, making multiple jumpers with her Nautilus Express club team. Wiseman also finishes consistently on the interior with either hand. Thats a quality that already separates her from a lot of the other wing prospects in the class.
Area To Improve
For as good as Wiseman is on the offensive end of the floor, we believe that she can get better. Adding a consistent one-dribble pull-up jump shot attacking in either direction will only add to Wisemans value at the collegiate level. For her, being able to score off of the catch and shoot, one-bounce pull and posting to score against smaller guards will make her a very difficult matchup on the offensive end for opposing teams.
The Bottom Line
Wiseman projects as a college prospect who will have legitimate size to play either perimeter position. Depending on the system, we envision her being able to play some stretch the 4 position at times too, spacing the floor and giving her team another knockdown perimeter option on the floor. Shell have a chance to show what she can do at the Elite Basketball Academy Super 64 Camp on June 8 and 9.
